Intuitive intelligence
In addition to ensuring excellent scientific, literary and cultural education, the Arboretum will ensure the development of:
Intuitive intelligence
At all times emphasis will be placed on the social skills of helping one another and of respecting and opening up to others. Time will be devoted to learning to learn, to developing knowledge of oneself and of others, etc. The encouragement offered by the educational team should help the young student to be proud of and happy with his or her progress every day.
The programmes will not focus only on the aspect of school:
Friday afternoons will be devoted to CAS (Creativity, Action/sport, Social), which will give pride of place to art, culture, sports and solidarity. CAS will allow students to develop, among other skills, their intuitive intelligence through encounters, art work, sports, social interactions (giving and receiving), singing, music, theatre, civic, religious and philosophical activities in intergenerational contexts (cf. point B-) through the study of current events, year-round upkeep of the vegetable garden, execution of mega-projects with the whole school and the neighbourhood, and so on.
The half-days devoted to Giordan teaching or AIR (Autonomy, Innovation and Responsibility) are scheduled for Thursday afternoons. The students will have an opportunity to develop their own learning methods and will pay particular attention to well-being and health, autonomy, motivated involvement, written and oral expression, effective note-taking and drafting summaries. The AIR workshops will also offer them the chance to devote themselves to interdisciplinary elements, projects, individual or group work, conferences, visits, and so on.
Through these activities the Arboretum will be able to make itself visible to the outside world and to develop its reputation.
