Beyond the courses: extracurricular activities

The sense of belonging to Arboretum College will be reinforced by participating in many extracurricular and sports activities as well as by the very human size of the school (maximum 300 students).

We are planning on organising a system of tutelage, of immediate remedial work, of truly supervised study, of meals (not included in the school fees) that are always healthy and often organic, of physical education or yoga, of creating a hockey or other sports team to represent the school, of opening a shop that will be run by the students, etc.

The 50 minute courses (for short lessons) will be followed by five minutes of ‘air-time’, longer sessions of work etc. will also be broken up by short outings.

At noon, sports, yoga and physical education/pilates will contribute to keeping us all in shape! We will do sports outside on two Friday afternoons a month. From 4.30pm, after classes, the students will remain at school for a snack, to relax and to participate in the – truly – supervised study. The first level students will leave the college at 6pm. Their school bags will stay at school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, so the evenings spent at home will be moments of genuine relaxation with the family, of the family building that is missing in our society today. Students who are already involved in sports or in academy will be permitted, under contract, to leave the study period to pursue their sports or educational training. Every Wednesday (1.20pm) and Friday (4.10pm), the students will return home with their school bags, which will allow the parents to have a look at their children’s school lives.
