AIR: autonomy, innovation and responsibility
CAS: creativity, action and service
First level:
1st year
4hrs math, in 2-hour blocks
4hrs Latin
4hrs Dutch
4hrs English
4hrs French
4hrs science-technology-computer sciences, including ‘printemps des sciences’ university programmes
3hrs history-geography-current events-philosophy
1hr evaluation on six weekly subject rotation
2hrs AIR (Autonomy, Innovation, Responsibility) projects, integrating and extending concepts initially explored in the core knowledge programme – practical application in real life.
Up to 4hrs CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) projects, linking with local and larger communities whenever possible: two afternoons per month will be committed to sports, one will focus on art/culture, the other to welfare, religion, philosophy and citizenship.
20 minutes of daily physical activity is scheduled for everyone after lunch, with a further 35 minutes available towards the end of the afternoon for self-directed art, sport or music activities.
Optional workshops will be available for those students who wish to stay at school on Wednesday afternoons.
2nd year
Further options will become available when the College has enrolled 40 students per level.
